Under the Department of Energy (DOE), the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program (EEOICPA) is ordained. This energy employees occupational illness compensation program was set up to aid financially the employees of the energy plant workers that become ill for getting exposed to the radiation or any other toxic substances. Authorized by the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act, the program has two parts- B and E.
The Part B demonstrates that the EEOICPA will provide the employees who are diseased by the radiation or any other toxic components or their survivors with a huge sum of money of around $150,000 along with paying all the medical expenses considering the conditions mentioned. Employees that come under the Section 5 of the Radiation Exposure Act (RECA) can receive a minimum amount of $50,000 as compensation.
Part E says the eligible employees as well as the survivors will receive a compensation amount of $250,000 along with the medical expenses under the accepted conditions mentioned. Considering the level of impairment and the years of qualifying year loss the compensation of $250,000 are ensured to cover the illness.
The EEOICPA/RECA beneficiaries don’t have to pay for their treatment which they need on an immediate effect. Radiation or any toxic material can become grossly contaminating without the knowledge of the individual. Unfortunately, if the employee of any power or energy plant gets exposed to these vicious elements are often detected with illness that may turn into a live threatening cancer. With the facility of getting medical attention along with the caregiving services from the compensation is an immense help for the victim and the family.
The survivors of the deceased are also compensated according to the laws. For more information visit the official website of the EEOICPA before applying for the compensation.
