Benefits of Drinking Natural Wine
Natural Wines Health – The health benefits of drinking natural wine are so much better than drinking conventional wine. Basically with natural wine the only ingredients you will find is what actually comes from the grape whereas conventional wines add chemicals to the wines during the production process.
Taste – Natural Wine is well known for tasting a lot better than mass produced conventional wine. This is due to the fact that organic farming along with natural winemaking is the best way to gain the best results from a vineyard.
Cost – Unlike conventional winemakers, many natural winemakers tend to operate outside the appellation system. The appellation system supposedly reflects the quality of a vineyard which governs the price of the wine. Operating outside of this system means that the wines can only be labelled as ‘vin de table’ however good they are which in turns means they are often undervalued.
Impact on the Environment – Natural wine is produced on organic farms where the use of chemicals is strictly controlled. Natural wine can only be produced on farms that have been farming as organic farms for years.

Disadvantages of Natural Wine
Natural Wine will always taste different from one year to the next because of the foudres (large containers) the wine has matured in. It is for this reason that supermarkets will not sell these natural wines. Supermarkets will only accept large quantities of identical wine.
Some natural wines will need to be opened several hours before consuming. They can sometimes smell unappealing to begin with or contain gas which makes them slightly fizzy, they also sometimes contain sediment, however all that is required is a decanter and a bit of patience.
Storing natural wine is very different to storing conventional wines. Natural wines are a living thing and extremely sensitive to temperature. If a bottle of Natural Wine is left out in the sun, it could ruin it very quickly.
The cost of importing Natural wine is a lot more expensive than importing conventional wine as they need to be kept below 14 degrees at all times from the moment it is bottled until it is drunk. It has to be shipped in refrigerated containers which is very costly to the importer.
